If you purchased your Pro subscription through the App Store and upgrade to Max through the same platform, Apple will charge you the full fee and provide a prorated refund from the initial payment.
If you purchased your Pro subscription through the Google Play Store and upgrade to Max through the same platform, Google will only charge you for the price difference.
